Olivae started with an old Andalusian cortijo – and an idea.

We made a place we would want to stay ourselves.

We are Marcel, Kim, Sam and Ava, a Dutch family who traded life in the Netherlands for a new chapter in Andalucía.

Together we fell for this part of Spain; the landscape, the outdoor life, the food, the villages, the people, the climate and the simple pleasure of spending more time together and outside.

And then we found an old Andalusian cortijo.

It had thick walls, terracotta roofs, various old olive trees and plenty of work ahead of us. But we could immediately see what it could become.

Not a hotel. Not a resort.

Just a small, personal place with three beautiful suites, where old Andalusian architecture and contemporary design could come together and where we could welcome people in the way we like to travel ourselves.

Restoring rather than reinventing.

We wanted to keep the character of the old cortijo, without turning it into a rustic Spanish cliché.

So we restored what was worth preserving and added what felt right: natural stone, warm wood, simple lines, soft colours and contemporary details.

The result is Olivae Boutique Suites.

Three suites, each with its own private terrace. A pool among the old landscape. Breakfast beneath the olive tree. And Andalucía waiting outside the gate.

Our kind of Andalucía.

We love places with a sense of where they are. A good local restaurant. A walk with a view. A market in the morning. A village you hadn’t planned to visit. Málaga for the day. Coffee in the sun.

We are still discovering new places ourselves and we’ll happily share our favourites with you.

We want Olivae to feel personal without feeling hotel-like. We’re here when you need us, and we’ll leave you to enjoy your time when you don’t.
